Just found out our son received a princiapl nomination from our Congressman. Verfified he is 3Q, now is it just a waiting game for the appointment? Thank you to all the valuable information given on this site. We didn't even realized he had received the Principle Nomination until after reading threads on this site, went and reread the letter and it stated "principal"! It's been a long road...trying not to get too excited!

Congratulations! And get excited! A wonderful feeling indeed! Barring injury, sickness, moral collapse, he's on his way down that long road which gets ever longer. Statistically, the toughest leg of the race, if not "won" has him in the lead with a great time in the "qualifyier."

We can feel the "joy!":jump1::beer1::rockon:

Congratulations. Tell him to keep his nose clean and not to get injured.

On this note, is admission a "done deal" Barring injury, sickness, or moral collapse?

I've seen others talk about another physical on I Day? Can anyone elaborate?

Congratulations! And what wonderful timing - Happy Holidays indeed!
Can we ask how you verified your son's 3Q status? Our son has a nom, and we THINK he's 3Q - but that could be wishful thinking! :rolleyes:

Yes, appointment is a "done deal" barring disasters.

And yes, there is another physical given on I Day that has been on very rare occasions prevented induction.

What does the world's most interesting pig drink when he's thirsty?

Stay thirsty, my friends! :topic:

... and healthy, my friends! " :thumb:

He called USNA and they said: We can't tell you if you are 3Q, but you know you have a med waiver, you know you passed the CFA and you have good academics. You probably wouldn't have recieved a Principal Nom without being 3Q'd. He also called his B&G and he made a call and verified that he was 3Q.

In the paperwork our DS received, it talked about blood, urine, breath test, and vision test. Is this the extent of the physical or is it the whole DODMERB physical all over again?

Congratulations on the appointment.

Reminder to candidates: BGOs are not authorized to tell you your Scholastic Qualification per Admissions policy --- BGOs SHALL NOT inform candidates of their board status. If Admissions wants to tell you, it is at THEIR discretion, and clearly in this instance they didn't want that information released at this time. Before you pick up the phone and start calling, expect a VERY SIMILAR answer from Admissions --- we can't tell you --- don't call your BGO after and ask.

Also, DS spoke with Congressional Liason and they stated they had received confirmation from the USNA on acceptance of the Nomination. We are all new to this process, as stated, we didn't even realize DS was awarded the Principal Nom and we had the letter for two weeks (didn't realize that was a different nomination than the other congressional). DS has handled most of this himself and I am sure didn't know he wasn't supposed to ask the question of his BGO. Just trying to navigate and figure out what it all means. Even with the Principal Nom, DS is still waiting to announce until he has appointment in hand...

Navy Wife/Mom,

This is definitely not you or your DS responsibility to have known that. The BGO should have known better or the word is not getting around the way it should be. Posting reminders on here so other candidates are aware of this policy and so they don't put their BGO in a bad position, especially now that appointments will start rolling out and everyone becomes anxious.
