My office has a great view of the New World Trade Center. Is it me or does the skyline look like a closed hand with the middle finger sticking up. A message to the world?

Naw, just their way of saying New Jersey is #1!

Only wish my view were that good...

Here is my view from the parking lot at work. This was taken by a friend last fall. We have several Adirondack chairs in the grass just above the lot that I love to sit and grade papers in.

No complaining about a rough day at the office allowed!

Sorry goaliedad! I have to disagree!
I have good friend who is a professor of Marketing. In one of his lectures he talks about the concept of “the better the packaging the worse the contents!” At the end of the lecture he asks them why are universities so pristine on the outside! He lets them think about it as they leave. He tells me some days the answer is “students” and on more days it is administrators. So TPG I say it is okay if you put up your feet in the Adirondack chair and complain once in a while.

I really have no need to complain. In the grand scheme of life, I am doing pretty good. I have a great income that allows me to choose what I want to do. I have a great job that allows me to pass on the little bit of wisdom I have accumulated over the years. I have a wife that is A) smarter than I who reminds me that I have been given a gift and should use it wisely; and B) who has stood by me through many trials and tribulations.

At least that is how I feel today. But I am mindful of the fact that it can change at any moment.

I couldn't express a better outlook on life if I tried. It certainly is a result of those trials and tribulations you have faced. Wishing you continued contentment!

I live close enough to NYC to visit often. It's been inspiring to see the WTC rise up over the past few years.

It is indeed a giant middle finger to those who would hurt Americans.

But to America, it is a beacon of hope. I hope I get to visit sometime in the future.
