Hi. I am a prospective candidate for the class of 2014 and am trying to decide among several academies. I was wondering if anybody knows how many cadets from each graduating class go on to become either a Combat Controller or a Pararescue operator.

Thanks,
Wise Man

I have about 3 friends in 2010 with me that were picked up for STO and CRO.

The average the past few years has been 2 STO and 2 CRO, per class.

STO = Special Tactics Officer. Officers in charge of the Combat Control Teams. These are the folks that go in behind enemy forces and set-up and control the drop zones and forward operating landing zones. Also control Close air support sorties, as/if required.

CRO = Combat Rescue Officer. The folks in charge of the para-rescue teams. They go in behind enemy lines to rescue the downed pilots.

Both groups a Helluva bunch of guys, true heroes and patriots all.
