spikes?

I wondered the same thing and couldnt get an answer. My conclusion was that you should run the mile in the same pair of shoes you did every other event in because i doubt once you get to an academy theyll let you put special running shoes on. It might still be an advantage if you wore the spikes without the actual spikes in them. Id ask your BGO

I believe the CFA rules state that you can't use any "extra" equipment that could enhance your performance. I never saw anyone at USNA use "spikes." I suggest you run the mile in running shoes, absent spikes. There must be a "track" that you can find that doesn't require them.

In a distance of one mile, you don't need spikes. The few seconds (at the most) that they would "help" you is almost negligible in the grand scheme of things.
