I was diagnosed with having arthritis in my C3 and C4 in my vertebrae recently. It has caused a restriction of motion in my neck, numbness in both hands, and some neck and back pain. I know that this is a reason for dq, but what are my chances for a waiver?

can you still PT like normal? does the arthritis restrict you from doing any activities that might come up? in your waiver you should include any sports, hobbies, or physical-type clubs that your in. I had to get a waiver for a spine-related problem and i just submitted a waiver saying how i never even notice it and they qualified me like nothing.

yes i actually do participate in a variety of sports. I can still PT and lift normally. That actually makes it feel better. I'm just worried because I heard that arthritis doesn't fly over well with dodmerb.

liblion22 - Send your posting; your full name and last 4 SSN; to Larry.Mullen@ dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. Also, tell me what Academy(s) and/or ROTC programs you are applying to? When DoDMERB determines an applicant doesn't meet standards, the "program" renders the waiver decision.

I can assist you better from there. I will be working later tonight:thumb:
