Can anyone recommend gifts for sponsor families and also for a retired AF officer who will be coming into USAFA to do our commissioning? Pretty much open on this.

As a USNA sponsor since 1996, we cherish the photos of "our" mids in nice frames we have on the bookshelves downstairs. A gift certificate to a nice restaurant or local wine store. A memorable gift was a www.bedandbreakfast.com gift certificate, to give us a weekend away, where someone cooked us breakfast! Practical things such as Sam's Club or grocery store or gas gift cards. A gift basket with treats from the home state. Or - just big smiles and thanks, because, truly, nothing is expected. We share in the joy of seeing those DS and DD well-launched.

For the retired AF officer, a framed photo of the personal commissioning, and maybe something nice from the USAFA store (am sure there is one), a nice beer stein, wine glass set, golf accessory, if you know what might suit personal interests.

I gave my sponsor family a plaque and saber. It was the least I could do
