Status still incomplete after 2 weeks

I am going through DODMERB for the AFROTC in-college scholarship program. I am getting a little worried because I went to my medical exam on the 11th but my status still says incomplete and when I called DODMERB they said that they had not received my paperwork from the exam yet. They have the optic exam just not the medical one.

I called and left a message on the voicemail of the doctor's office that I went to for the exam to see if maybe they could tell me when they sent the paperwork and to make sure it was not lost or anything. Have not gotten a call back yet.

I don't really know what to do right now because I need to know what remedials I will need or if I need to start the waiver process (I am almost 100% sure that there will be a remedial and possibly a DQ where a waiver will be needed). I was told by the commander of my detachment that I need to get this all done before the end of January so that in the case that I am awarded a scholarship I can be medically cleared and the scholarship can be activated.

Is two weeks for DODMERB to recieve the paperwork too long or is that normal? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process besides getting paperwork together from my doctors for remedials? Do you think I will be able to get everything done and cleared by the end of January? Please let me know if anyone has some answers on how long the remedial/waiver process is and if there is anything more I can do to speed up the process. I can't stand sitting around and waiting anymore!

Thanks!

DoDMETS probably hasn't sent all their paperwork yet. Their deadline to submit everything is listed as the "Applicant's Pending Date" on the application status page.

I took both parts of my medical exams on September 6 and DoDMETS didn't submit my paperwork until October 7. I didn't receive a qualification letter from DoDMERB until November 10.

So basically, one month for DoDMERB to receive paperwork, two weeks for them to send me first status letter, and two more weeks for them to evaluate and send final qualification letter after I sent in my remedial.

Hope this helped

I think I got very lucky. All of my stuff was on the DoDMETS page a couple days after each exam. Then they immediately sent it to DoDMERB. And DoDMERB only took maybe 2-3 days to qualify me. Maybe I got them on a slow week? It really is a case by case basis.

When did you have your medical exams? I think mine was slower since it was later in the year. Or do they hold all the exams in the same general time frame?

I completed my last exam on November 11th. I ended up being qualified on November 18th and the actual letter stating that I was qualified was post-marked on November 21st.

I must admit I'm jealous. I had to wait forever for mine.

That's pretty awesome though! Congrats!

Yea it was a big surprise after reading the normal time it took from people on this forum. Plus, it says 2-4 weeks on the DoDMETS website. I was anticipating needing a remedial, but apparently I was good to go. Definitely a relief to have this part over with.

The key is to not speculate, and not to be concerned on the turnaround of other cases.

Both DoDMERB and Concorde are businesses, and businesses have rules/protocols they have to follow. DoDMERB will do everything they can to make sure you are properly evaluated, and Concorde will do everything we can to make sure DoDMERB has the information they need to evaluate.

The "rule" is this - if after 10 business days, your status remains "incomplete", send an e-mail to dodmerbstaff@concorde2000.com. Include your full name the last 4 digits of your SSN. An associate here will be able to assist.

If your status is "complete-hold", be patient. The hold could be multiple holds, or perhaps something is not legible on the exam. Again - we do everything we can to make sure DoDMERB has the information they need to properly evaluate applicants.

Our "businesses" are also cyclical. Right now could be considered a "tough" period because many people are on vacation. Thanksgiving is a short work week. Many applicants head home to complete their medical requirements since they are on break - this puts added work on our teams.

When in doubt, simply e-mail us and we can look at your file. Include your full name and the last 4 digits of your SSN in the body of the e-mail.

Both DoDMERB and Concorde are dedicated to the medical evaluation mission for the service academies and ROTC programs. Everyone wants all applicants to be medically qualified as quickly and painlessly as possible. The process includes stakeholders who have to juggle their priorities with ours. We spend a lot of time doing this... :bang:

Someone should sticky this so they know what to do when concerned about DoDMETS. But keep in mind the 10 business days for incomplete and 14 days for complete-hold timelines -- generally we operate much, much faster than this. :thumb:

Cheers,
Joe
