good evening, I am trying to figure out the admissions process. We were informed that our applicant has been placed in a hold status. Is that something to be concerned about since the reps have not even made nominations yet? Our senators have nominated him and I am fairly sure he was the only nom from each which would lead me to believe he may be the only one nominated from the state. Also is anyone else having trouble getting to the status page? THanks

Good morning. We have not had any trouble logging into the Status Page. Our DS status is still "App on file." How were you notified of a Hold status?

I actually visit the application portal everyday just to see if my status ever changes and these past few days I get a Runtime Error. It states that it's something with the servers over there. :frown:

Our applicants status changed today to a HOLD status. Thinking that this isn't a very good sign. Does anyone know what a HOLD status means?

possibly the same as "deferred"??

Probably no one who posts here can be definitive about it, but if history is a guide it MAY mean the Academy remains interested in him/her, but the candidate was not strong enough to become "principal" right away (Dec). There were second and maybe third waves of acceptances in the past of at least some "Holds" starting roughly in March. That much I can say from experience as my son was accepted in March.

No idea whether it's 1%, 10%, 99%??? of holds that actually get picked up.

But likely not a bad sign in any case.

Best just to tune it out couple of months, its out of your hands.

Good luck.
