Another perspective... as an Active Duty officer there will be days you don't want to be there, are pre-occupied with things, are stressed, or have an order you don't agree with you have to carry out. Its your job to be focused when needed and give your troops 100%. They deserve it. Everyone has bad days and those are the days you take a long run, go to the gym, or honestly take a few hours to yourself so your troops don't see it. Even if you are pilot and don't have any or many troops in your charge... your focus on flying could be the difference of making it home safe. So in the long run look at it as a learning platform when it really matters down the road... when lives are possibly on the line.
