Still in the game

How many make it from the final appointment pool?

About 1500 in most years but may be slightly less this year due to defense cut-backs.
Admissions usually assumes 1200 appointees will accept appointments out off 1500 appointments offered.

How many do they usually take out of the National Pool? and how many are placed in the national pool?

Impossible to state precisely since there is so much creativity used in trying to appoint wanted, nominated candidates. However, somewhere is the range of 300-450 is probably a pretty fair range for 3Q'ed high school applicants appointed from the national pool.
Guessing there will be around 800-1000 in the pool by mid to late March.

Well...

You don't know what you don't know; however, we shall all know soon enough.

We just keep building the memories. DS was asking about clothing today, told him to get a job. DS then asked about the trucks I'm looking at, told him to walk after all he totaled my other one. DS had our 95lb lovable labrador on his lap sleeping...pricless! Don't know how they do it but labradors have a way of just being there when you need them. :thumb:

Forget the mailbox!!

Love this.

DS does not stalk, does not ask, does not stress. He plays his video games, plays rugby since wrestling is over, just sang in the capstone concert at school and is looking forward to finally making another boy scout camp out.

I am the NUTCASE!!! :shake::rolleyes::eek:

And thanks Bulbalma for the scoop. It helps. We know we won't hear before April as the appointment is already given out (if the appointee chooses USMA, we are back in the congressional mix, otherwise its NWL) so I am stalking NROTC more at the moment.

So sorry to hear about the TWEs! Keep the faith and try again next year!

So here's a question (quite possibly a dumb one)..... as we get closer to April 15 without a TWE, does that mean our DD/DS's chances incrementally go up or down? My legs are honestly shaking every say when I go to the mailbox... Good luck to all :)

As its coming down to about a month and a week left until we no doubt will find out the verdict, my mom and I light a candle and pray every night that whatever decision is made on my application, I will handle it with grace! Its out of our hands, God already knows where I and all of you will be in a year! But I hope I find out soon so I don't pull out all my hair or die of sleep deprivation until then. :worship:

AMEN usa95! DS favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans that I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans for good and not evil,to give you a future and a hope". DS has done his part to prepare, the Lord will guide where he goes.

As my youth pastor said, my plan B could be God's plan A. Just have to wait and pray at this point.

My DS has said the decision is already made he just doesn't know it yet. He's hoping God wants USNA as much as he does!

My favorite verse too! Let's stand in agreement our BFE are in the mail!

Too much angst, folks.
The picture will become much clearer in about two weeks.

You are very calming bubalma. But it is an angst filled wait when DS wants it as much as he does.
