Still in the Game

Does West Point guarantee that everyone will know where they stand (accepted, denied or waitlisted) by the 1st of May?

Getting excited about plan B is proving difficult since plan A is still in the air.

Speedsmom, sorry to hear about the TWE, however, if your Geaux Tigers is where I think he is going and the colors are Purple and Gold...then I say Geaux Tigers!! and as we say in the South..."Laissez le bon ton roulet"
Thank you..you are correct. He will be going to LSU

My DS was accepted at LSU-BR and that is his Plan C school. I am from that area and my niece goes there. Love my Tiger football!

No. Most that are still wait listed will be resolved around that time. As that is another accept/decline deadline, there may be a few spots that open up. Those still on the wait list should hear from their RC and if they don't, it is recommended to give them a call to see what is going on. There are always those late/last minute appointees, and they may be able to allude to that. Remember, 1 May is also the deadline of most other schools. You'll need to lock in your plan B before 1 May or risk not having anything come next fall.

Ahh, so it's basically an official dead line. Meaning, "99%" of candidates will hear one way or another by that point?

Locked down my plan B earlier in April. Been in contact with their ROTC unit since this past summer. Either way, I'll be more than happy.

That's the right attitude. You'll do well.

Just as our hope was starting to fade... DS confirmed on Plan B school and paid deposit... A few hours later, the portal was found updated with VPRE2 under nomination!…but nothing else…Still in the game, waiting…
That's really cool, I wonder if they only give one out for VP

@dream19: I could be wrong, but that definitely sounds like a good sign to me! I have heard that VP nominees are selected very carefully, and I'd be surprised if they gave one to somebody who wasn't likely to be appointed. :D Of course, a nomination isn't the same thing as an appointment, but I would still feel encouraged if I were you. Good luck for the upcoming weeks! :thumb:

The VP nom is like the MOC nom in that 5 can be at a SA at any given time. Unless the VP had 2 openings...

DD is still waiting too, she was told she was being considered for USMAPS and offers should be sent by early May.

@logremf good to know of a date, lol. Still waiting here for any news as of today....! Each day that passes with no information feels good and bad at the same time!
