Still on the island thread

you crack me up (as usual)

ACT composite doesn't matter, just Math twice as much as English. (no weighing in of reading or science). and they only look at the higher of act OR sat. not both.

I get what you are saying about 'letting the cat out of the bag' .... :( i need to keep that in my brain.

either way...you know my feelings about Plan A and Plan B (how awesome I think Plan B is) regardless Mr. '19 is still in the hunt, which is a fine place to be!

:)Still waiting here in Oklahoma for word on DD...... However, her friend and classmate received a conditional LOA on Friday, so we are still hoping.....

I would like to add that I am a long-time reader/follower of the USNA forums, but have only just now signed up. I have found most posters/members (both parents and DD's and DS') to be so very supportive of each other; it is so heartwarming. I hope to post more, and I hope later today when DD gets home and checks the mail I will have good news! Good luck to everyone still on this same island!!

JTGIB13: If you don't mind, please elaborate on what a "conditional LOA" is. I haven't heard of that. What is conditional about it? I thought LOA's were long gone at this point. Sounds exciting and promising…so just wondering. On another note---DS made it another day after the walk to the mailbox this afternoon. Massachusetts-District 02.

I may not be using totally accurate terminology here, but I know that DD's friend received an LOA Friday, with the stipulation that a possibly disqualifying medical issue was cleared. The young lady did let DD know that issue was cleared up today, so it looks like she will be receiving her BFE soon. DD and her friend did apply to both USMA and USNA; DD's dream is USNA, while her friend's dream is USMA. The funny thing is both DD and her friend were advised that they were waitlisted for USMA due to the competitiveness of our particular district. They were further advised that had they lived in any other district in Oklahoma, they would have both gotten in. DD does have a solid Plan B (NROTC scholarship at a state university), and she has said she's giving up hope for this cycle. I, however, am not. I told her we don't know for sure until we know....... I will continue to hope and pray for her appointment until we are told otherwise. God has blessed her on this journey so far (things falling into place when least expected), and I remain hopeful He will see her through to what she has been called to do since the 8th grade....... Perhaps this waiting is just Him teaching her (and us) patience...... hmmm, something to think about...

Oh, and JTGib13, congrats on your DS making it another day!!!!

To those who say they are 3q , how did you find that out? Posters are always claiming this so im curious...obviously an appt in hand would mean 3q but in this waiting game ?? Again just curious, not being condescending.
