Still waiting?

That's awesome news guys! The prep school is a great opportunity and is the best way to prepare for the Academy.
 
in the USAFA catalog it says that some candidates may be notified of appointment shortly before the class enters. what's the latest that people have been notified of appointment?
 
Bendaddy - any news yet? Anyone get news yet? DS called Admissions Counselor today, AC said he had nothing to tell him - maybe he is being reviewed for Prep School by "the powers that be....upstairs." Was a little sad he didn't get a clearer answer, but I guess the best news is that he hasn't been rejected......yet :eek: Good luck everyone!

No news here... My counselor said that I will know by May 1st. He also made it clear that I am still being reviewed for an appointment - not a Prep School slot. Hope the same is true for your son. :smile: Good luck.
 
Of course! It's 9 months where they PAY YOU to go to school. I am active duty currently and the year at the prep school counts toward retirement. By far the easiest way to get a year! And once in the Academy so many doors are opened. Can't in good conscience turn it down.
 
Great news Bendaddy!:thumb: My DS said the AC sounded puzzled for a few minutes - I heard DS explain he had just received a medical waiver earlier this month - then he told me "maybe I'm being reviewed for Prep School." I truly thought he'd get a more firm answer...not a "well maybe you're...." I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - best of luck!!
 
Congrats again USAFMortensen :smile: I have an enlisted nephew, he really pumped up the virtues of going to the Academy to my son - I truly wish you the best of luck and thank you for serving our country! :yay:
 
Bendaddy, hope you get an appointment...but a prep school slot is still awesome! You'll just be a whole lot more prepared for 4 dig life than many of your classmates (like I was earlier this school year).

Got the TWE last week despite a congressional nom. I had a question regarding the reapplication process...I will be going to the otherside of the country for a year to do ROTC while I reapply. How does that affect getting another congressional nomination? Would I apply through the sources I previously did or through my new home's sources?
