Stipend

DS confirmed last night he received his CULP ($900 I believe) and 12/15 stipend. Still waiting on the 12/1 stipend. This is nationwide as he spoke to another cadet in a different BN who was on his CULP trip and said the same thing.

EXACTLY the same situation for my son...
 
Just in time for Ckristmas!!!!! :thumb: Although it shouldn't have happened in the first place but at least it got corrected.
 
Reserve drill pay delayed also

My Cadet's Oct drill was cancelled because they had no money to pay the soldiers...November drill pay was short $135. Reason on LES was vague, but it appears they feel he was double paid between summer stipend and LDAC (I can prove he wasn't, but of course they didn't ask me!)...Now December is delayed indefinitely...

Wonder if this is related...or just piling on. Very frustrating for cadets with families and/or need this to live on...

Interesting that your detachment got it solved quickly. When did the 300s started asking the question about stipend? We didn't get contracted until mid-late September and none of us asked about stipend until the end of October.
 
DS hasn't had any pay issues at all, so it isn't nationwide. Perhaps it's disproportionately affecting those who went to CULP?

I agree with Sherrif3, this seems to be effecting those cadets nationwide that attended CULP and were caught up in the over payment.

My son has had no issue as well, but he did not attend CULP last summer.

Yes, cannot receive both Stipend and Summer Training Pay at the same time.
 
The CULP pay issue and Dec 1st stipend issue are related, if I could find the darn memo from the G-8 it has all the info. They send the entire pay transaction to DFAS together and since there was an issue, they have to retract the entire thing back in order to correct it. And yes it is nationwide, it affected all CULP cadets (or nearly all).

If you got your CULP pay back and did not have your stipend corrected, make sure they let their cadre (HRA) know so they can inquire about it. The cadre most likely don't know the issues are still issues unless cadets are hounding them about it.

If I find the memo, I'll post it. It doesn't say much more than what's already been posted.

We noticed mid September, and our NCO told us it could be up to four weeks before it kicked in, but it was fixed within two weeks (I was surprised it came so fast). The only two that weren't contracted already contracted in the first week of school (beginning of September). I think their stipends maybe started a couple weeks after ours but there wasn't as much of a delay as I was expecting.
 
This is very frustrating as I am only getting sporadic reports from DS as he is appropriately focusing on finals and not getting me much information and that is only via very short text messages. He states "no one" at the AFROTC DET is getting paid, but how accurate that is I don't know. I want to contact the DET directly but that ship sailed when he graduated High School. The DET seems to be passing what they are being told. Every month it has been the same story, "we're being told you may receive payment in two weeks".
 
Ordinarily, I insist that our boys handle their own affairs now that they are in college. But when scholarships aren't paid, schedules can't be confirmed. They were told to "make arrangements." Since they don't have $10k of their own, we stepped in and emailed the HR person directly.
 
DS received $143 in his account on 12/20, he thinks this may be his missing 12/01 stipend but the amount is off by $32 for some reason? He did get his 12/15 stipend in full and on time. Crazy...
