Storm Jonas - Hunker Down

Snowflakes in Annapolis. Standby for epic snow battles at USNA T-Court.

For the 2010 First vs. Second Regiment:

4-5 feet snow drifted on back deck, above window sill, and driveway/walk are about 25" (after we used snowblower during a lull today). Still going hard, but no problem with power, predicted to slow down around 1 AM. I could smack those newscasters who are all excited about the records being set. I do think it interesting the storm is so large it is impacting DC/Balt/Phil/NYC at blizzard/near-blizzard strength simultaneously. Hope those of us in the path emerge unscathed.

Only lost electricity for a couple of hours. Question will be when the side roads will be cleared out. Hopefully, because everybody stayed off the roads the plows will be able to get there faster than in years prior.

Attention all hands. Now hear this. Now hear this. Away the flying shovel team to designated areas. Report to muster stations with equipment and commence shoveling. 0630 SnowBlower Party may stand down, secure gear and titivate laydown space. Mess decks ensure continuous serving. Officer of the watch execute the plan of the day and secure thread...with a cheery aye-aye.

Here's how they do it at Ft. Campbell

Howling with laughter. Just what I needed after shoveling 187.5 cubic feet of snow from front walk. Yes, I did a volumetric estimate. DH moved many times that from the driveway with the snowblower. Am toes up on sofa with hot tea and feeling a pre-game nap creeping up.
