Student Athlete Study Abroad

Possibly. Water Polo's main season is in the fall semester, but they do play and practice in the spring. Not sure if you are being recruited for water polo or not, but Navy's team is really good, I would not count on playing water polo unless the coach has asked you to walk on. Coaches are generally very supportive of Mids taking opportunities for things, but to lose a player for a full semester would probably not be looked upon greatly. Crew's main season is in the spring, but they do practice in the fall and have some fall competitions if I remember right. As in all D1 sports... regardless of being out of season, there is always conditioning and team stuff. If you have not been around D1 sports, remember these coaches get paid to win and feed their families based upon a bunch of 18-22 kids winning. Also, don't count on playing two sports at the D1 level, it is extremely rare.

There may well be an opportunity to go abroad even if you don't have the time in your schedule to study abroad. There are various programs during the summer that last 2-4 weeks where mids go to a variety of countries, live with a local family, etc.
