Students admitted from same school

There is no state quota or county quota or school quota.

Right, I didn't mean a "State quota" but if a MOC starts sending 5 Noms a year to one specific Academy, what is the number of students allowed in the academy from that Nominating source at one time, you say 5 but I thought that was total at one time, not one year.
We're all talking about the same thing, it's just not being communicated properly on my part.

Each US Rep and Senator are allowed to have a total of 5 credited to them at one time at USMA, USNA and USAFA each.
Not all candidates on the nominating list will be credited to that Congressman or Senator's "quota".

Cadets and Mids at the Prep schools do not "use" a nomination until they get to the academy. They also qualify for a Sec Navy, Army, AF nom so they will not necessarily use their MOC's slot.

Each year the Academies notify each Congressman and Senator the status of their "quota" and how many slots they have to fill. If a Congressman has 2 open slots in one year - they may submit two slates of up to 10 names. If one candidate from each slate matriculates then the Congressman would be credited with the two candidates.

Even though each MOC is allotted 5 slots, most won't fill all 5 but will keep a slot open. A year or so ago, there was a case where an outgoing MOC filled all 5 slots at one of the academies. His replacement was left with ZERO slots and could not submit a nominating slate that year.

A MOC can have 5 students in each academy at any time. So, usually, they can send one person per year, and they can nominate up to ten for that spot. Only ONE of those ten nominees will be charged to him/her. Other nominees can also get in off of the NWL, so more than one person nominated by the MOC can attend at the same time, but only one will be charged to that MOC.

I'm fairly certain that students attending the prep schools are not charged to a MOC, because they have to reapply for a nomination. Preppies are not guaranteed admission.

Correct. No nominations is necessary or even used to attend the Prep schools. If one is received the year they are appointed to Prep it is not used and does not "carry over". Hence the need to reapply for nominations.

Our Nominating MOC Military Liaison contacted my son two weeks ago and told him to update his resume' and sent some forms to be filled out by instructors at USMAPs. He also said he'd set up a time to call the MOC's office for his interview; it will be the same staff he met last November, even though we had a change in MOC. Prepsters must complete the 10 month program with at least a 2.0 gpa and a recommendation from the CO. The Secretary(s) of the Army/Navy only have 185 slots open for Nominations and that includes direct Nominations to the Academy so, with just over 200 Nominations needed, there are some that get charged to their original (if they nominate again) MOC.

Maximus both you and armybratkl are right - not sure what your point is here.

Many, if not most, will enter via the "National Pool" and will not be charged to an MOC.

Back to the original question, it is theoretically possible for all 400 or so annual apointees from this pool to be from the same school should their order of merit be the best. To reiterate, there are no school, MOC District, or state quotas.

Expanding upon this conversation:

"I'm fairly certain that students attending the prep schools are not charged to a MOC, because they have to reapply for a nomination. Preppies are not guaranteed admission. "

I was trying to clarify what armybratkl mentioned.
