    Too bad it's so ephemeral since they all had to be below the high tide line. Of course the pics will last forever, as they will in the hearts of all patriotic Americans. Thanks for sharing tug!

    For some reason it brought to mind the scene from "Saving Private Ryan" when the military comes to inform her of the deaths of three of her sons, and when the minister gets out of the car she simply falls down on the front porch. Balled my eyes out. Just like I get teary eyed every time I'm at the Viet Nam memorial. All those names... so many names... :frown:

    Mee too. I always think of the second to last scene in the Fighting Sullivans when the Navy Commander goes into the Sullivan Home and tells them they lost all 5 of their sons. My mother said a lot of theatres would not show the movie in 1944 and 45 because it just unravelled too many people.

    Thx for posting. Took boys to the naval yard in Buffalo to see Sullivan film and ship during scout outing. Loved that too
