Hey everyone! For those who got accepted, when did you submit your application? I'm still waiting on my SAT scores in order to submit mine :(

We submitted the application the night of the 16th. We were told to do it right at midnight because the timing was important. I would submit the application and just notify admissions of your score when it comes in. They have a great FB page that discusses these issues. Don't wait!

My son submitted his on the 20th of January. The only reason I remember that is because he was home from school for MLK day when he completed it.

First of all, congratulations those who are starting to receive their Summer Seminar notifications. My son turned in his application on 16 Jan, and several days later he received an invitation to attend a Candidate Visitation Weekend (CVW.)

For my own curiosity, I'd like to take a poll to see how many of you will be attending only Summer Seminar, CVW, or both, and to attain more data, if you don't mind, what state and district.

As of now my son has: 1 CVW vs 0 S.S, CA. District 22.

I know this is early in the game, and I should probably wait until the end of April to conduct this survey, but what the heck.

My son was at SS week 2 last June. He called me on day 2 to tell me he had found his place in life. He was so excited, loved every minute of it! Really put USNA and the Navy in prospective for him. Best of luck to all of you. We are now awaiting (hopefully) the BFE.

    CVW

My son turned his SS app in at 2 am the night it opened at midnight. He got a CVW invite about 5 days later. We are flying out for the March one. No SS at this point. We live in TN, the 8th district.

Aw gee :( I haven't submitted my application yet. Will submitting it this upcoming Thursday (when SAT scores come out) be too late? I really want Session 1. What are the chances of my getting my first choice?

Why not submit everything else and send your scores along later? Is there a requirement that they be sent in together?

    From the same page:

"College Entrance Exams: List the highest scores you have received in these exams. If you have only taken the PSAT, ensure that you include your scores."

NASS admissions is rolling. If your PSATs were awesome and you don't yet have your SAT scores (am assuming that you put the USNA code on them, so they will get there otherwise), go with the PSAT.

DD (USNA 2017, and picked as a 2014 NASS Detailer) did NASS her junior year and loved it. She learned a lot more from her CVW though, so keep that in mind. Not attending NASS is NOT the end of the process ... not at all.
