Summer Seminar Acceptance!!

I'am doing an informal interview with my ALO on tuesday about the summer seminar. I wonder if that plays a role in why I haven't heard anything yet.

It won't hurt.

The ONLY folks that have heard anything at this time are those that have been offered slots. That's it.

If your ALO is doing an interview, that means he/she is going to send commentary to USAFA for their review. It is a GOOD thing!

Be honest, humble, and enthusiastic! Be ready to explain WHY you are interested in summer seminar, why you are the right choice, what your goals are, etc...etc...

Best wishes!!!

Where is the ticker located? On some AFA site? Thanks!

I was just referring to the home page where you log in. Once you're accepted, it gives you your choice of sessions and shows how many slots were left for each. My son got his email early that morning and when we checked it right away, two of the dates still showed 295 available. I was guessing that was about the number they started with. Once you accept or decline the summer seminar, you can no longer see those numbers on the front page.

Okay, thanks!

When exactly was that? Because I accepted Friday night I believe and the numbers were much lower.

Well hey! That's still a lot of slots left, YAY! If I get accepted into(crosses fingers) and could only go to AFA SS and I would totally miss school and pick session A. It'd be a great way to spend my birthday, June 3rd xD!

That was the first day the acceptances came out (Feb 1), first thing in the morning.

I'm amazed now though that they're down as low as you're saying. Seemed like for the first couple weeks they only went down through the 200's. Dropping another 200 seems like a big jump. Guess the second "wave" of acceptances was much bigger.

We applied late (2/13) waiting for first SAT scores. Great scores (770 math, 750 CR, 660 writing) and good GPA (3.7 U/W) but given the number of seats left open, starting to think it is not in the cards. Congrats to those that got accepted. Have fun

Those test scores are AMAZING! They hold a handful of spots open for the late applicants, I'm sure. Man, I mean those test scores would definitely make you or your son/daughter really stand out. Good luck!

Do you know if the application had been processed yet?

It has not yet been processed, so hope remains, but we should have applied earlier. Also applied to USNA and waiting to hear from them.

Sorry I had the numbers transposed, it was 660 CR and 750 writing. My apologies.

My son. He studied, took practice tests, used Compass and honestly, got a little lucky.
