For the essay on the Summer Seminar application about overcoming a challenge (3,000 Characters Max). Mine came out to be 2,998 characters without spaces. I don't believe it classified whether the maximum included With or without the spaces. Will I be disqualified?
 
Have you already submitted? Because the app sometimes blocks you from submitting if it's over the character-count. Usually those counts include spaces.
 
Then you're probably good. I went back to check on my USAFA app, but I can't access my writing samples online anymore. I did look at my local versions of the essays, they were 2,998 with spaces so you should be fine.
 
You are also better off NOT posting your pic (if that is you) and/or using your real name as a screen name in these forums. A mod can help you change your screen name.
 
Good for you getting your app in. I hope you are selected. To answer your question,character count INCLUDES spaces and punctuation. So, when you do your app for USAFA in the spring, remember that and do not go over the count. The essay content is important for sure, but so is following directions ;)
