Has anyone recieved an offer from the academy?

Im from district 46 in Cali and just wondering cause I was offered one from USAFA and that deadline to respond is 2/17. I really want to get an offer from USNA and go to that one, rather than USAFA. Cant do both, insufficient money.

    Any response would be awesome.

No news in LA-04 yet! Don't know how long to expect things to take.

Worth a call or email to your BGO or admissions - don't sit back waiting, make something happen.

Last year my DS applied on the first day the Summer Seminar app was available. He received an acceptance letter in the middle of March.
    Good luck to you!

Two years ago my son applied the day it opened and he received his acceptance letter in the first week of April. At that time, I had just discovered this forum and the first people only reported receiving acceptance letters starting around mid/late March. From everything I've read about USAFA and USMA's Summer Seminar applications, they seem to give you an answer a whole lot quicker than USNA does.

Many others have been in your position in the past and I recall reading of at least one person who accepted USAFA's SS offer, and once they heard they got into USNA SS (their first choice), they then declined USAFA. There is no easy answer, but at least you have one definite offer right now, and if you turn it down, you might not get an offer from USNA (applications are looked at slightly differently, including their geographic needs). However, there is always a wait list of people who would jump at a last minute opening.

    All the best!
