I applied for NASS about 3 weeks after the application was released. I still haven't heard anything back. I know that they will mail notifications by May 1, but what percentage of notifications mailed out at the last minute are actually good news? I assume that most acceptances were mailed rather quickly and only the denials are held off until the end. Is this assumption fair? I'm just trying to get a feel for how high my hopes should be when I do finally receive an acceptance/denial.

I know in my son's letter it said that if they did not accept within 2 weeks their spot would be offered to another applicant. So, with that in mind I would think there are still spots to be offered.

I would definitely call! When I was waiting for my acceptance, I called to "update my SAT scores" but I was actually just curious about whether I had been accepted or not to NASS. When I called, the guy on the phone had my application up and basically made the decision to accept me on the spot. He asked what dates were good for me to go, and then told me I got it. My acceptance letter came within the week. Good luck and be pro-active!
