Posted this on USNA board and was told kids have a bag to carry all day. Wondering now about USAFAss...

So, for handling 'that time of month' during ss week...do you have a backpack or bag you have with you during the day in which you can carry needed items? If not, would you be allowed to carry something or do you just tell a midshipman your concern? Are there scheduled bathroom breaks or do you need to get permission to go?
Have one headed to NASS and USafa ss this info. might be needed! She will not be shy about asking to step away to deal with things if needed, but I wondered about keeping items on hand.

Side, NON gender specific question.... d, now done with exams and thnking about summer, is looking into...are you assigned to a series of academic seminars at ss or just a class or two? Have those assignments been sent or do you get them once there? The summer seminars are starting to run together information wise!

I went last year and started in the middle. I didn't have supplies on me (it was early) but approached a female cadre and explained my issue. She was great and had tracked down the needed items within an hour! If your daughter is better prepared than me, she'll be able to have a bag (everyone gets a bag and some clothes--no pockets on the shorts, though!). There was no shortage of bathroom breaks, as I remember, and she'll be able to either go at a "planned time" (never pass up a bathroom break!) or excuse herself and rejoin the group.

As I remember, there were two academic seminars, maybe an hour each? I believe we found out our assignments upon arrival... it was on the name tag, I think. And of course beyond that there were "this is why USAFA has great academics" lectures, though I think you're thinking of the subject-matter related classes rather than the academics in general presentations.
