Hi, a long time ago I made a post on whether or not I should put down that I have been suspended or not on my West Point personal data record. It has been expunged now, but I am hesitant on whether I should put it down or not. My liaison officer told me I should do so anyway, even after it ha been expunged. Suggestions?

Absolutely you should list it.

Even though it was expunged, background checks could result in the event surfacing and then it will be very damaging. It would be better to discuss the event and present how much you learned from the expungement process and how you have grown subsequent to the transgression.

I am also curious on why you are questioning what your LO is recommending. If you don't list it, he/she will know!

Agree with gokings814. Why would you still consider leaving it off as your liaison officer told you to include it?

Also you will soon be going through clearance paperwork that they are very particular in language asking about arrests vs convictions. School suspensions are another story. Always make sure to read what they are asking. You did the right thing and asked your LO. If they said to report it, then that is your answer. What if your LO mentioned it in his interview feedback or a teacher did, but you didn't?

If you want to live your life based on technicalities (I.e. expunged means it didn't happen), a SA or a career in the military might not work out for you.
