My son was instructed to bring his swimming equipment to swab summer. Does he have to carry it around with him all day? I have read to pack light, but since he plans to swim for the Academy he has fins, kickboards etc. Is any one else a swimming parent or cadet that know that answer?

We were told by the swim coach that the academy provides ALL equipment needed but that it might be nice to have their own suits, googles and summer sport stuff for the summer. He said we could bring it by his office on R-day (instead of keeping it with their clothes). He also said that he would be contacting the swimmers to let them know what to do.

    Swimming during Swab Summer

After reading these posts, our daughter is going to contact the coach to find out what to bring to Swab Summer regarding swimming since this is her primary sport. Does anyone know if they start sports practice during Swab summer? Or does this start when the official academic year begins.

They have weekly "coaches nights" where they meet with the coach and fellow team members. But the practices themselves are controlled by NCAA regs. They don't usually begin until the academic year starts.
