nope! there is a swimming class sophomore year, but it is nothing to worry about.
 
Yes, but not until your C3C year. The Academy will do an initial screening and you will be placed with swimmers similar to your own ability. You will also as part of this jump off the 5 meter and 10 meter platform. If you have the time over the summer as part of your leave, try going to a local pool and practicing a little, every little bit helps.
 
Yes. Swimming and water survival are required courses.

There have been people who took Basic Swimming multiple times. It may be a gut check, but you need to just do it. Practice before hand does help.
Things to work at: 250m front crawl/competitive backstroke, and efficiency (distance per stroke) in breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke.
