Texas A&M in-state tuition scholarship/unit selection

We had heard the same info about the competitiveness of TAMU. My DD received the JCAP scholarship this past year but did not get into TAMU as an out of stater. This was frustrating as a parent because we paid to travel there for the JCAP experience but did not find out about no acceptance until
Same here....

So can one of you explain what exactly JCAP is and what the scholarship requirements are?

Actually nevermind, I do not qualify as I am not in JROTC, Sea Cadets, etc. But the JCAP Scholarship is not the same scholarship for in-state tuition correct? This is a seperate scholarship that I can recieve for being admitted to TAMU and joining the Corps correct? For me to realisticaly consider attending TAMU, the in-state tuition scholarship is a must for me.

Have you looked into TAMU-Galveston? They have a NROTC unit there and if you are in the Corps, you will automatically qualify for instate tuition.

I have but I am not really interested in a sub-campus, as I would just rather go to Virginia Tech's main campus or VMI.
