Anyone having any problems contacting Texas Senator Ted Cruz's office? The deadline for the application is tomorrow and I have tried calling and emailing his office to make sure all my materials have arrived. No reply.

My online profile still shows things as "not received" even though I have sent them well over two weeks ago! I just want to make sure everything has gotten to his office safely!

I got my stuff in right before all this shutdown mess and everything shows "received." The guy you need to talk to is Joel Garcia. Maybe he is not working because of the shutdown. I don't know. Maybe he is just behind because a lot of people are sending their stuff in at the last minute. He did take a while to mark my letters of recommendation as received. I got them from my teachers and my dad mailed them with a return receipt. It was more than a week before they showed up as received on the checklist.

I will tell you what I heard from the lady at Senator Cornyn's office. She said all their mail is routed through a secure mail facility in Washington DC before it is delivered to the Austin office, even if it is addressed to Austin. She said the shutdown had closed that facility so letters might be delayed. She did said they would honor postmarks.

Thank you so much. I submitted my online application and essay questions last night and sent in my transcripts, test scores, and recommendation letters over two weeks ago. Everything still says "not received." I'm just not sure if there is anything I need to do as I have already emailed and called the office they provided on the website.

I hope this works out.

Keep in mind that people at the academy are sort of in chaos. Furloughed, some brought back, others not. So this process with be more chaotic than normal considering that on a yearly basis they are processing something in the neighborhood of 12,000 applicants or more.
