I discovered this forum when my DS was in his second class year at VMI. I have been lurking ever since.
I have very much appreciated the information, the opinions, and especially the perspectives from those of you who have been there and done that. I even managed to impress my DS once or twice with a useful suggestion.
My DS graduated from VMI in 2012, finished IBOLC and Ranger School and is now in the 101st. Every step along the way, you guys have been a great source of information and support. (I was actually torn between posting here or in the ROTC forum as both have been equally helpful.)
I am guessing that I represent way more than a few who have been helped by the folk who take the time to write (many) detailed and thoughtful posts on these forums. Even though we don't join in as perhaps we should, we are still thankful for this resource. For my part going forward, I will jump in when I can with what I have learned through the process.
Thanks again for all that you do to help this community.
