I wanted to pause for a moment and thank you for this forum and thank those who participate here. I haven't posted much over the years; however, when our son was near the beginning of his journey at VMI, I tended to "hang around" here more frequently  .

In just a few short days, he will be commissioning as a 2nd Lt in the Marine Corps, and graduating from VMI. A few weeks later, he will be getting married, going on his honeymoon, and then heading off to TBS. Although it has been almost 4 years, the time has flown by - at least for me.

It's kind of funny, but when I first saw VMI, there were very few people on campus, and I was somewhat "disenchanted". Later, when the campus was bustling with people, it seemed VERY different to me. I know that VMI is rich in history and tradition, but clearly, the PEOPLE make the difference. VMI is truly an amazing school with amazing students and alumni. The other parents that my wife and I have met have been very impressive. I will miss the trips to VMI and the activities.

Now, ... I suppose I will have a whole new set of concerns ... isn't this parenting job ever supposed to get easier?

Again, "Thank You!".

Respectfully,
Murf

Congrats Murf!

Congratulations to you and your DS! The journey is really just starting.

Can't imagine TBS as a married 2nd Lieutenant. I suspect your DS will face some interesting challenges. Please keep us informed.

Thank you for posting, Murf! We're just beginning the VMI journey with STP in July and then matriculation in August. We visited last year on vacation and took a tour. We were impressed and my son put in a lot of work and effort to get there and it has paid off! We're so proud of him. Congratulations on your son's commission, graduation, and upcoming marriage! Here we go!!!
