DS received letter in the mail showing his qualified status for AROTC today. We had seen this also on the website. I just wanted to thank Mr. Mullen and the staff at DodMERB. DS and I dreaded the process, but were pleasantly surprised by the easy to understand and complete instructions provided in the intial letter. The subcontraced physicians were helpful and easy to work with scheduling. The websites that allow us to follow the process and read additional information explaning everything were incredibly helpful during a stressful time. Also, from exam dates of 13-12-10 to confirmation of status online 27-12-10, mailed confirmation received 31-12-10, quick, efficient and professional all the way! Hope the January AROTC board follows up with DS scholarship offer, fingers crossed! Happy New Year to everyone!

was this about a remedial

Is the info you provided about the response time to a remedial? I am curious trying to find out length of time once information sent in is being reviewed until I hear something. Thanks.

Go Navy- this was with no remedials, so we would have no knowledge of that potential wait time. Have faith, they seem to "get work done" as my DS puts it. Hope you get good news soon too!

Our experience with fairly common Remedial (I think)

17-8-10 application opened
13-9-10 examination
22-9-10 exam reviewed
23-9-10 remedial letter sent. (as expected)
29-9-10 remedial ( additional info from different source requested, if memory serves). Faxed info same day
29-9-10 exam reviewed. ( info supplied reviewed)
01-10-10 status letter sent. ( cleared, a-ok, fine,,,,whatever the terminology ds was deemed qualified medically!

I was very impressed with the timeline. But I had done the footwork ahead of time including physicians statements, school statements, etc. I had and inch thick stack of copies of every medical record that was available. Of which I only needed about 10 pieces of paper. But got it all!

Backreading the forum threads in all catagories has really been a big help!
Hope this helps. If it were not for others willing to post ahead of me I would have not been able to handle all this so easily. The medical stuff I tracked down and compiled for ds but all other areas of this process have been in ds's hands solely. (except learning all i can from you all, that is) He spent time every morning at his high school in the office making phone calls, sending faxes, etc.
He spent time time daily at lure schools office

Oops, meant to say spent time daily in school office, making phone calls, tracking paperwork, etc. He had many applications going at once. Thank goodness he had a free period because he needed it. He also had 2 a day sports practices going so he was a busy guy.

Thanks LynPar

Thanks for the dates. My parents were expecting a remedial also and were able to get the records sent quickly. Officer Mullen let me know the date they were sent for review. I have heard nothing so there must be a problem since you got a letter sent like 2 days later. I have heard nothing but I am prepared for whatever. I really really appreciate the info .

I also applied to about 5 colleges. It was alot of paperwork but so worth it. I had to do all of mine at home.
thanks again so appreciated.

I wouldn't assume that means a problem. I don't know this for sure but I would bet the number of files being processed this month is way more than when in September. and again I think our remedial was a very common one that has a set criteria for approval of qualification, very routine.

Ohio2015Parent - Congratulations. It was our pleasure:thumb:
