I seldom post anything on this forum; but have viewed the conversations since 2009 when our cadet was going through the application/nomination process. Now, as he is 9 days away from graduation and a huge milestone in his life, I wanted to take an opportunity to thank all those who have posted invaluable information through the years. It has truly been a blessing as we've had our questions answered and been able to use the information to negotiate our way through this journey. Our cadet is a 2008 graduate of a small rural high school here in Alabama; forfeited 2 years of school at a local university when he accepted his appointment and has never looked back. He will graduate with a degree in civil engineering, having made the Dean's List all 8 semesters; has branched engineers and his first post will be Ft. Carson, CO. We couldn't be prouder of his accomplishment and I did want to thank all of you for the really good information that is available on this forum.
May God Bless the Class of 2014 and all that have served and are serving this great country!

Congratulations to both you and your son! :thumb:

Congratulations! Hoping that in three years our son has successfully negotiated the obstacles and joins yours in the Long Grey Line. ...

Good for him, and for us, that he chose the path he did. He's obviously smart and could have chosen so many other options. But he chose to take the hard road and serve his country. For that, I am grateful. Congratulations!

Congratulations. Enjoy grad week. It is hectic but special. I have spent a lot of time the last few days reminiscing about last year this time. Hopefully it will not rain on y'all as much as it did us. Again, congrats!!!!!!!!!

PM coming your way.
I know of 2 Alabama 2LTs at Ft Carson that your son could connect with.
