Can the Academy force a mid to stay on campus over the upcoming holidays. Delano will be closed and no food will ve available. I also understand they basically turn the heat and hot water off during these down periods.

Yes they can. Lesson here, don't be an idiot with the kind of restriction that you miss holidays for.

When cadets had restriction over breaks (Thanksgviing, Christmas etc.) they were generally pretty close to getting kicked out.

In the past KP has been closed down over holiday periods. Maintenance, cleaning etc. has been conducted during those times. With the new administration and policy of holding restricted mids on campus during breaks, they are required to provide food and housing. Whether they will be able to provide those basic necessities over break periods will probably dictate whether or not these new rules will remain in effect, otherwise it looks like Kennedy may have them all sleeping and eating at his quarters. It worked over the break between tris as there were several sports teams and hold overs on campus, but who knows with Thanksgiving.

I know that things have changed since my time there, but as I recall, the only time that we were required to leave was over the Christmas holiday. I know this because my family was living in California, and I only went home for Christmas and summer.

I recall Class I and Class II restriction remaining in effect over holiday weekends. So I've been told anyway. Food was always available though it may have always just been the seafarer cantina. Again ... so I've been told.

Seafarer Cantina? Oh, is that the old Canteen under Delano Hall? I don't know that I ever ate there more than once or twice (if that). I am pretty cheap, so if there is "free" food available, paying for it goes against my nature.

While I may have stayed at school over the Thanksgiving holiday, I am pretty sure that I might have been invited to join a classmate at their nearby home for the day, though. Funny how we forget the little things in our old age.

LineINTheSand...um, times have changed. Don't judge those kids on restriction now by how it was way back in your day.

I did hear from a parent that knows, cause they are 'in that situation' as their DS is on a Class I restriction right now.... that his son will be allowed to leave campus for 7 hours on Thanksgiving Day... and WILL be able to go home for a week over X Mas break as well.
