The West Point Association of Graduates has announced that Mr. H. Ross Perot will be the 2009 recipient of the Sylvanus Thayer award. Mr. Perot is a
1953 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and an American whose accomplishments and activities are well known to most Americans. The award
will be presented this Fall at West Point.
The Award is given to a citizen of the United States, other than a West Point graduate, whose outstanding character, accomplishments, and stature in the civilian community draw wholesome comparison to the qualities for which West Point strives, in keeping with its motto: "Duty, Honor, Country."
