The 2015 NHL Playoffs!

How many days till Steeler Football (minus Kiesel and Troy, I might just start drinking NOW).

LITS: I draw your attention to post #19 above.

Wow! 3 OT - at that point its anyone's game. The Hawks find a way.

They certainly have. Now I can only hope there's some historic comeback, and the story becomes "against all odds.... the Predators clawed their way back...." I don't like "against all odds" scenarios..... but I'm hopeful.

Pens gonna whoop those Rangers tonight for sure. If no one has the mumps, a blood clot, a fight with the coach or the GM (who are fighting with each other)...

Don't get me wrong, I like the Pens. I was born in Pittsburgh, had my share of Lemieux Topps trading cards, etc. The Penguins do not look good. They haven't looked good through much of the season. They just can't seem to get it together. They're slow. Their defense is disorganized (and not having Letang really hurts) but I think the Pens defense has been weak for some time. That would be one cause for concern, if their forwards were scoring like they should be, but up front the offense looks.... lost. They haven't seemed to click as the season closed or into the playoffs.

The Rangers (who I'm not especially fond of) however have a pretty scary roster.

Couldn't agree more with your assessment LITS. And with players out with strokes, thyroid cancer, MUMPS!, all this season.... just not our year. Even Sid is just not "on" this season.

All that said, I do think the Pens will win tonight - maybe.

They finally cracked Scott Darling (and in the 3rd period, no less). I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come. Forsberg got a little bit of payback for the Calder snub (how the heck did they snub him?) I threw my hat at the TV.... just doing my part.

Big big game tomorrow.

Go PREDS!

Was at the Caps-Isles game 5 last night with my 14 yo daughter...what a fantastic game!
DS (he of the scholarship) is a Ducks fan, so hoping for a Caps-Ducks final

I don't think the Ducks will make it through round 2. I'm not sure how they are where they are. They don't look good when I watch them, but somehow they're still getting it done. I'm sure about the Caps either. I'd like to see a Preds v. Caps final, so I can go to the games....

I know the Islanders have been rebuilding and getting better under the radar, but this year surprised me. I traded away John Tavares in my fantasy league for Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury crashed and Tavares flew. That said, I have Pekka Rinne, Ryan Miller and Marc-Andre and Fleury in net, so my fantasy league crease is pretty secure for another year. But.... man, Tavares, he's on fire.

I am out of town and watched the first two periods at a sports bar. By the time I walked back to my hotel and turned on the TV the darn Preds had scored 3 goals! I was shocked. Then I couldn't get the game on the TV in the hotel. Had to watch updates on my computer. Hawks fell asleep that 3rd Period.

They moved the game between NHL Network and NBC Sports..... pretty annoying for the viewers.

Well, that was sad. Great season by the Preds and an entertaining series, but I've put away my Preds jerseys and hats until the 2015-2016 season.

LITS: Sorry to see your team go out but... glad the Hawks advance.

Minnesota is playing well. This will be a tough series for the Blackhawks.

I think the Wild will be surprising easy. The Blackhawks have already played the fastest team with the best goaltending. I don't see Minnesota being too much of a challenge (I should say I dislike the Wild almost as much as the Blackhawks, hahaha, Ryan Suter......).

I think the Wild will be surprising easy.

Well LITS, you called that one correctly.

Now on to the Anaheim Ducks who are on a roll and have one of the deepest and most physical teams in the NHL. Chicago got them 3 times during the regular season giving up one goal each game. Should be a great series.

Anaheims overrated. They're better than the Wild but not as good as the Predators.
