Has anyone received the last Beast phone call from the NC?
I have not. But I read it was to happen between 7/27 to 7/31.
I wonder how the new cadets are doing now.

Any shared info on the call is greatly appreciated.

A number of companies have been making calls, I know Echo Company has.

Our New Cadet is in Bravo and has not yet called. They've been in the field for the first part of the week according to BG Rapp's Facebook updates.

I figure we will talk to him tonight or tomorrow. If not then, definitely on August 14th.:thumb:

Your young ones are all grown up! They're learning the joys of a Gold Bond shower and the value of dry boots.

I hope you all hear happy calls from your new cadets! Or at the very least, calls of optimism and survival.

My new cadet's company started a 10-mile ruck march at 10:30 last night and faced the "dragon" - the tear gas chamber - on 2 hours' sleep this morning - but attitude was as good as could be expected. My plans for A-Day visit are getting less ambitious by the minute.

Son, from A company, called last night talked for 10 min. They were firing all kinds of weapons lately, M4, grenade launcher, etc. ...wonderful experiences. I wish I had this opportunity when I was at this age.

Hmmm, have not heard from my E Company Cadet as of yet?

Mmmm, oh the girlfriend...maybe? lol

The gf got both the first call and the last call? You did get the middle, ice cream party call didn't you?

I talked to my E Company new cadet on Wednesday night. As of that time, E Company had not done the gas chamber or rappeling. He had done well with rifle marksmanship and the entire company had qualified. More importantly, he said he hit the vein on the first try starting an IV during SFR! :thumb: BG Rapp's Facebook page says E Company would have a 10-mile ruck march early Saturday morning. I imagine "early" will be 2:30 a.m. like a previous ruck march!

G company has been out in the field...I would expect they didn't try to make calls while there. Maybe you'll get your calls today. G will do House of Tears and rapelling this week. If your call hasn't come yet, it's because they are where they can't call or they are too busy to stop to make calls...not because of any other reason (i.e. evil cadre). It's hard to chill and wait, but that's pretty much the only choice. After marchback, you'll get a nice long call (once they are moved in and settled).

I guess lol We did get two on the ice cream social day...she got one too lol

Well, what do you know! DS in E Company called tonight after all. Had a nice 10 minute chat with him and he sounded real upbeat and laughing! He was in his Squad leaders room but, amazingly he was very open and frank in his conversation!
He is definitely looking forward to "A" Day weekend, as is our other adopted DS (A Company), a great kid from Prep last year, his parents live just about as far as you can get away from West Point; they've both written with "special" requests and yes, they want an X Box for the hotel room.... My guess is they'll both be sleeping inside of 10 minutes!

That is excellent to hear!
Your DS knew you were waiting for his call, a great young man.

It was good to hear from him, can't wait to see and hear about Beast from both kids-in different Companies. :thumb:

Got the call tonight at 8:30pm eastern. Co G-1. Sounded fantastic, despite the tear gas thing today.

Got a call last night around 9:00 PM. I got on second, after he talked to his sister...phone went dead about 30 seconds later.....he called back about 2 minutes later, as he just kept talking, and did not realize he lost me for a while. Wife talked to him for a few more minutes, then he felt that it was time to go. All things good overall. He thought the House of Tears was the "worst two minutes of his life...but then it was kind of funny watching everyone else come out...". He is a little perplexed that he is a very good shot on the range at night, but kind of average in the day??? He did not have any shooting experience going in.

Shooting is a very strange skill set. It's hard to explain why people shoot well under some conditions and not under others. Some shooters on this forum can attest to that.

Shooting at night can be easier because there are fewer peripheral distractions, and a chemlight on a target presents a much more refined aiming point.

Yap, Son said the tear gas was very very very bad.:unhappy::shake:

There seems to be a nasty cold going around CBT but some new cadets are reporting that their cold/sinus issues are gone after a session in the "House of Tears"! :thumb:
