I just recently applied to The Citadel and I cant wait to get my reply, however aside from any sort of acceptance type issues I was wondering about student life at The Citadel. My Question is related more to the atmosphere and population of the school to be more specific. Due to the important historical heritage The Citadel has earned, as well as its overall southern environment and student body, will I (being from the north, Midwest to be exact) have any issues as far as socially or otherwise if I were to attend there?

Didn't the Civil War end about 150 years ago?

I don't think you'll be shunned as a Yankee carpetbagger, if that's what you're worried about.

I would have to believe that The Citadel and South Carolina have evolved over that time, realizing that the Mason-Dixon line is not the 38th Parallel.

Just avoid yelling "we won!" and practice saying "y'all" over and over again. :thumb:
