My daughter is interested in a possible NROTC side load. How difficult do you think it was to get it?

It's a national competition so it may be just as hard as the 4 year scholarship. 9 won one the year my son did, including him. 8 of them were Navy options switching to Marine option. He was the only Marine option to receive one outright. The stats of the people who won them were comparable to USNA admission stats. However, I believe with hard work, if you prove yourself, you can land one.

I do know of some folks who have seen the writing on the wall and have decided to follow the PLC route instead, freeing up time for classes but still commissioning.
