The Military Girl Stereotype

I'm sorry I'm a little late, but please don't worry about the stereotype. There are some really intense girls here, just like there are some really intense guys here (the term by the way is being Hooah). But by no means is every girl capable of hundreds of pull-ups, sit-ups etc... Most of us like to put on make-up, to dress nicely, paint our nails (just got a pedicure last week :) ), and be girls. The concerns about dating in squad probably won't be a concern until after you're recognized. There just isn't much leeway for couples to meet and go on dates as Doolies. No one wants to wear service dress on a date, if that's even an option, because most of the time Doolies are restricted anyways. But even so, I've been here just under a year and several guys have shown interest. If the guy thinks cadet girls are gross, he probably wasn't worth it in the first place. The majority of guys here are really nice, respectful and generally just great. Just the other day, a guy friend was saying "Who wouldn't want to date a cadet girl. I wasn't expecting this, but most of the girl's here are pretty, they're smart, generally fit and athletic, and they are motivation and determined. What's not to like?" It's like having a bunch of brothers who have your back. I hope this helps. Be proud of your decision. As long as you know your reasons for choosing to serve in the military, it doesn't matter what they think.
