Good evening from Afghanistan. My son has been working diligently and has made it to the first gateway..."Candidate"...he was unfortunately not selected for the nomination in the state where we are stationed, Hawaii. We have completed both the Vice-Presidential and Presidential nominations and are hopeful...I spoke to his admissions counselor this week and she said he is competitive...when should we expect to hear a potential final answer...I've been told March...he's been admitted to Embry-Riddle and Purdue, but his heart is set on the Academy...thanks for any feedback to a deployed, supportive dad...

DS got an email from his ALO that said "the remainder of offers of appointment to USAFA will be selected at the board the first week in March".

But don't panic if it doesn't come that first week. My son's admission counselor said that "most" BFE's will be mailed by March 15th. So we just all continue to wait!
