The Reapplying Club - C/O 2017!

Hey guys!

I received a falcon foundation scholarship and will be reapplying to the Academy. I was wondering if any of you all knew how to restart the process. I was told not to start everything over on the portal system.

Thanks!

Do you know which prep school you want to attend?

Congrats! I wish I could help you, but I am not familiar enough with the falcon foundation scholarship to do so. Hopefully you'll get a response from another falcon soon. Here's a good website to get started at: http://falconfoundation.org/

Congrats! And yes, the process will be very different than last year (no essays, ALO interview, dodmerb exam, recommendations necessary). The school advisors will help us out with everything else, so there's no need to worry about the app now! Also, I recommend MMI, since that's where I'm going, ha! just visited the campus and am excited to arrive august 10.

I have a 4dig friend who went to MMI last year and said it was the best choice of his life. He told me he was more than prepared for the classes at USAFA by spending the year at marion.

Yeah, it's a great opportunity. The appointment rate for qualified candidates is 83%. Had lunch and got a tour with the SAP coordinator, LTC Lewis. Nice people and they are very passionate about helping us reach our goal!

Are any of you applying to other Service Academies? I'll be applying to USNA.

Traitor!! Totally kidding. :yllol: I don't think I personally will this time around. I will, however, reapply to the schools I didn't get into this year in hopes of telling them no, haha! Kind of my own personal victory. Maybe it's silly, but I'd like to be able to say 'I did' as opposed to 'I tried'.

Traitor... lol :shake:

I may be incorrect... but I think Falcon scholars are not allowed to apply to other SA's (or MUST accept a USAFA appointment) I could be wrong... someone correct me!

I suppose it's possible, but I don't believe that's the case (plus it isn't really necessary). However, if you choose to go to a school other than USAFA, you have to pay the scholarship back to the foundation. AKA the scholarship is void if you decided you'd rather go USMA or some college.

Well, it's almost that time to start reapplying! Hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully we can all be a part of 2017.

The application is open again. Best of luck to you all; I hope to see you next year!

Started working on applying for nominations today. Brings back some great memories from last year when I was lost and had no idea what I was doing.

I had a similar experience. It feels good being able to check some boxes I was not able to last year.

I'm assuming we cam answer some of the questions which are phrased in the past tense (e.g. Have you attended college after high school?) in an affirmative if we will be attending college. Any thoughts on this?
