The Waiting Thread...

staying optimistic here in Ohio - with a healthy dose of Plan B thrown in...whatever happens, bottom line is these kids are amazing, determined, focused, patriotic and WILL realize their dreams of serving their country...God bless them all!

We've been getting things in order for Plan B. Tuition deposit has been made and housing forms will be complete this week.

We haven't seen a TWE, so there's still hope!!

No news as of March 16. Can only assume as days tick closer and closer to April15 it's best to chose the official plan b...so spring break will be spent looking closely at the 3 plan b schools, instead of lounging at a beach! Three other candidates from DD"s high school were offered NAPS. One is going, 2 turned it down.

May the luck of the Irish shine on some of you tomorrow! Especially harmi!

Thank you Shortmom!! Tis tomarrow may certainly be the day our wee lads and lasses hear some good news...no BLARNEY!! LOLOLOL!!! We need to stay POSITIVE!! NOT accept defeat...DEFEAT is the TWE and none of us have gotten that yet...soooo....lets hope the USNA is full of generous LEPRACHAUNS and we all hear some good news we can raise a "pint o' Stout" to. May the Luck O' The Irish be with all of us still waiting!! Irish or not...a little luck won't hurt any of us at this point!!:shake:

I like it...just hope I can toast my "Kid to Mid"......soon.

Us too,(son is still waiting to hear one way or another) especially along with KNARF and SHORTMOM...it is really tuff waiting and I really hope from the bottom of my heart that we can all toast to our amazing young adults soon...they all sound like top notch kids and would make strong, proud MIDS!!

If St. Patrick brings good news I'll never miss Mass again! May the luck of the Irish be with all of our waiting Mids to be!

We're in the same boat. We felt we had to move ahead on Plan B although the mail-lady stalking continues. Even if a TWE does make its way to our mailbox, just knowing, one way or the other, will be a relief to our household, extended family, and friends who are all praying to the Gods every day.

Cheers to all (with green beer) still on mailbox-stalking duty. :beer1:

REF: Turning down NAPS;

Does that imply that two spots have opened for someone else for a NAPS opportunity?

March 17th and still waiting. We too will be spending spring break looking more closely at 3 other plan B schools. Time to start putting deposits in for housing etc. Happy St. Patricks Day!

What do you say?

Agreed -- its looking more and more like Plan B is going to be Plan A.

DS is reluctantly taking math placement test for Plan B school this week. He did ask me why a kid ranked #1 in a class of 539, Varsity soccer captain, pilot, firefighter, early nom in a competitive state etc.. still hadn't heard. All I could think of was the Reba McEntire song....

Hang in there y'all! I'm pulling for your kids. My nephew, who is a firstie at USNA this year, didn't receive his appointment until April. This whole process just takes a lot of time, and the wait is agonizing. But the fact is there is still time! Good things are going to happen! :thumb:

Not that it makes doing it any easier, but we were advised to go ahead with registration fees and housing deposits at plan B even though DD has an appointment. One missed step and that broken wrist may mean plan B becomes plan A. Yes, we'll be out a few hundred $ but that's better than missing a whole year.

This really sounds like current conversation in our house. DS really not understanding why given his class ranking, test scores, leadership and ECs. Still trying to stay positive, but at this point also trying to be realistic.

So true, osdad. Consider that few hundred $ as an insurance policy. Time to protect your DD with bubblewrap. :thumb:

Congrats to all with USNA appointments and good luck to all mail box stalkers.

We have decided to just wait for the BFE or TWE.....no more DoDMERB stalking or SA forum review. Will check in a few weeks and provide an update. Look forward to hearing good news from all.

Please don't go!

We will be praying for you and your future MID...see you back soon!

GO NAVY! :tomcat:

The Luck Of The Irish didn't work this year. TWE with waiver denied. His sibling really wanted to see him as she is Cadre at Plebe Summer. Maritime Academy as plan B and application again. Told him he still has OCS and ROTC. Best of Luck to all still waiting. Our initial appointment for the first one was very late so don't give up hope.:thumb: Some schools may refund the deposit for a SA appointment. You can check with the individual school. Still not a bad investment when you consider the four year cost. Too bad he has my eyes. LOL
