After reading some of these posts I am assuming if you get a TWE (Thin White Envelope) in April then it is a "Rejection" letter from the USNA. My Question is what does an "Acceptance" letter look like? How does it come or does some one call you to let you know they have "Accepted" you?

It all depends. No kidding. Most MOCs will contact you to announce that you have been offered an appointment, but some don't. If you do earn an offer you will receive a thicker, larger envelope that contains a Blue folder with a letter from the Superintendent congratulating your achievement - plus several other documents.

Sorry to be so ignorant but what does "MOC" stand for? And do the "Acceptance" letters go out before the "Rejection" letters?

Acceptance letters come in a BFE (Big Fat Envelope) filled with paperwork for the appointee to fill out and return to USNA.
MOC- Member of Congress- Nominating Authorities in the House and Senate.

Acceptance packets arrive throughout the winter and spring as the admissions department makes its selections. TWEs seemed to come later in the spring so there is an overlap, some receiving TWEs while some are still receiving BFEs.

Our MOC did give us a call. That message is still on our answering machine. It is sacred and everyone knows not to erase it! :yllol:

okisteph: There is a thread on here with the various acronyms defined. It can be confusing at first. Go to the forum entitled "Community Information...", it is a sticky in that forum!
