THUDGATE: U.S. Air Force Falcon Football: Parent's Weekend

Bump: Because we're within a week of parent's weekend. See you all there. Mike....

What to wear

How about a "I support Ben Roethlisberger" shirt?

You'll certainly stand out AND annoy everyone (women especially).

Those pink #7 Steeler jerseys are going for less than $15 on eBay. :thumb:

Since my kid is a USCGA cadet on exchange, you can be assured that there will be at least two of us wearing the CGA orange and blue! :thumb:

Still trying to make up my mind, but after the Steelers embarrassing loss in the pre-season, mind you to the Broncos last night , I might be sporting my USAFA gear...

I can't wait to meet you all (or some!).

We're taking the twins' car Thursday night (I hope they remember that), so we should be there fairly early on Saturday.

I am looking forward to meeting the Thudgate crew and so many other of you. I am sure it is here somewhere but i have a question. Thudgate is a before and after party yes? My cadet would also like the opportunity to meet and greet many of her brothers and sisters and any parents as well.

Thudgate is generally a "Before" the game tailgate. Sometimes we will do a bit afterwards, but that's usually later in the season. Parent's weekend most people leave right after the game, because that's when all cadets are released.

FWIW: We, meaning I and a few others, will be there around 8am-8:15am to start setting up. You all are welcome to come over at that time. You won't have your cadets yet, because they will be coming down a bit later. But if you want to, you are welcome to come early with us. As far as your cadet meeting us, and thudgate, they will have plenty of time before the game. They will get to the stadium around 10am. They will need to form up to enter the stadium around 11:30am. They will have time to walk around with their parents, friends, etc... before the game. Just come on over. Most of you will want to see your cadets prior to the game, so you might as well come a little earlier; come to thudgate; and miss the traffic coming into the base and stadium parking lot.

Oh yea; for those who have never been there before, after the game, give yourself at least 30-45 minutes to get out of the parking lot. It will be busy. The good news however is that we don't charge for parking, and there's plenty of it. See you all Saturday morning. Catch you later. Mike.
