My application is 100% complete, with nomination, 3Q'd, and I'm wondering how long it takes to receive notice of an Appointment.

I understand admission is on a 'rolling' basis but does the Admissions Board meet on a regular schedule?

How many applications do they review at a time?

Is notification by mail only (or email?) or will you hear from Congressman or BGO?

Thanks.

It's not really a question of "how long" unless you had an LOA or a primary nomination. From my understanding, a lot of acceptances don't go out until March or April. And you'll get a big envelope in the mail if you are accepted. USNA does notify the MOC who nominated you first though, to let them have the first opportunity to tell you. Some of them will call you to let you know but others will just let you get the news from USNA.

From what I remember from last year, most folks had heard by March or April unless they were put on the national wait list (like my son). We didn't get a final answer until June 16th!
If your application is complete, be sure to forward any awards or accomplishments that you receive. Other than that, secure a Plan B, and enjoy the rest of your senior year while carefully ensconsed in bubble wrap!
Congratulations on the 3Q and nomination, a huge accomplishment in itself! Best of luck to you and I will pray you get that BFE sooner rather than later!

No he didn't tarheel. That's why you will quite often see me posting about securing a plan B. The key is to focus on doing everything within your control and not to worry about the rest. (Much easier said than done.) I wouldn't wish the wait list on my worst enemy!
Best of luck to everyone waiting, hang in there!
Many times you will read how things don't always turn out the way we want, but they turn out for the best. I would have decked anyone who would have told me that last June, but I see the wisdom of it now. :thumb:

Completed application: August 2009
Noms received: 1 in December, 2 in January
Call from MOC: March 12, 2010
BFE: one week later

Not much communication in the in-between times, though he did continue to update file by submitting grades and an honor received.
