I am trying to get a realistic idea of the timeline it takes the paperwork to get to the NROTC selection board, once the NRD officer interview is completed. I am concerned as my DD's interview is not until next Tuesday and the board is the following week. All her paperwork has been received and nothing is noted as pending/in progress on her netfocus. Just the interview. Can her package make it in time?

I would expect that the package will not be ready for for the board that quickly. but don't fret, DD application in in very early in the cycle and there are plenty of boards left.

Good job for her getting it completed so early.

Thank you.
She is going for nursing so she needs to be in front of every board if possible. There are so few slots. With everything electronic, I am hoping. But, she does have her Plan b, c , & d in place. She has already finished all her college applications to the NROTC school list and our backup (in state schools).

Thank you.

She may have her heart said on Navy, I can understand that, but has she considered Army Nursing as well? I smile as I type this because my daughter had gotten the advice to apply to both branches and she had her heart set on Army so only applied for an AROTC scholarship, but just thought I would throw that out there. I have heard there are more slots for nursing for Army. First board for Army is not until October so if she decides to, she has time.

You can expect a package to make it in front of a board about 30 days after the interview is completed, assuming the interview is the final item. Packages are processed and scored in Pensacola before ever reaching a board, and that takes time. Don't sweat the board dates, as there are lots of them. Just put together a quality product.

NavyNola - Thank you.
Dckc88 - She did concern AFROTC Nursing, we did the college road trips her junior year and her #1 school is AF only for nursing but...after visiting, talking to the AFROTC personnel, deep discussions about the different types of duties/billets as a nurse in the different services (Army, Air Force and Navy). (She is in NJROTC in HS) She made the decision Navy only. We have all four (Army, Navy, Marine, and AF in the family). Yes, AROTC and AFROTC has a large amount of Nursing scholarships compared to Navy but she is looking past the college and into what/where/type of duties she will have. Thank you for the advice.
