Haven't posted in a bit since getting ready for I-Day but does anyone have any tips for us soon to be basic cadets since the days till basic are getting smaller in number? 29 Days!

You're bound to get this response from any number of cadets/grads, but take the time to slow down and enjoy life. I loved my time at the academy (especially the people), but the next time you come home you may not feel quite as comfortable with friends at home. Take a breather, relax, your life is never going to be the same. Even for me as a brat I'm still getting used to it well after graduating. Work hard, do your best, and let the loose end drag.

    Very Respectfully,

    BSA

I second bsa07eagle suggestion. Last time DD was home, she went to see friends, then came home and said she felt like she was babysitting.

bsa07eagle - thought that patch looked familiar. DD is in CS10

Are there opportunities other than road scholar to travel to Europe? Specifically England.

Thanks Gradwife, I always love your input

Travel, yes. But you don't always get to pick the location. Get good grades and you may get to pick. My capstone took some people to Europe, great opportunity.

DD thinks he's the best AOC in the wing. The Maj is rotating out, though, but the good news is that one of his best buddies is taking over. :thumb:

Wow BSA you haven't posted in a long time good to have you back. I remember reading your post when my DS started down this path years ago.

As to the OP remember to lookout for each other. There are going to be things you're great at remember to help those that aren't. Things like that will come back around as well when you run into something you're not as good at.

Also remember there are good things and bad things about the AFA don't let he bad things change you and learn for both th e good and the bad.

Haha, that gave me a good chuckle. The RHODES scholarship is typically considered the most prestigious scholarship in the world, at least the English speaking one. It takes you to Oxford. USAFA has an in-house scholarship to Oxford as well that is called the Holiday Scholarship. The only other one I know of that can take you to England is the Marshall scholarship which can be taken at several UK universities.

As a cadet, there are a few exchanges that go to Europe if you excel in a language program. A few graduate opportunities are also available to Europe. France is the only one that comes to mind but there may be others.

With the road scholarship you can travel wherever you like. Just pick the road you want.

Are you still hoping to get FAIP'd?!?

Welcome back. Had to look back at your postings to see how long it'd been.

haha, don't want to get too off topic in this thread, but I'd rather not be a T'6 FAIP due to the fact that I've been airsick through the entire program.

Id love to be a Road scholar, Ive looked a lot into it but I also noticed that only like 1 or 2 people per year get it so I was hoping there were back up opportunities to shoot for.
