In the next few days, I am meeting with my ALO for the first time. I'd really like to make a good first impression (not a false impression, mind you, but a good one), show him that I am an excellent candidate that is worth his time, and build a strong relationship between he and I. Are there any tips that you all (especially those that are currently/have been ALOs like Flieger) could give me that I do not know of, or maybe are USAFA-specific?

Look sharp (shave, comb hair, wear a collared shirt, ect.) and be genuine.

Also, ALO's are tasked with determining what your motivation is to attend the academy. They want to see that it is yours and yours only (not your parents or someone else)... So show him that YOU want to go to the academy and tell them why you want to serve.

My motivation for attending the Academy is my intense, life-long desire and sense of duty to serve my country, carry on my paternal Air Force tradition (I'd be a 3rd generation Airman), and ever since I was very, very young I've wanted to fly fighters (Strike Eagles in particular). Would those reason be considered ones that are mine and mine alone?

That's perfect. Capitalize on the life-long desire and third generation airman piece. Legacy plays huge role not just at the academy, but in the Air Force as a whole.

    Be yourself.
ALOs their service counterparts can smell a bs artist from the beginning.

A strong hand shake and eye contact goes a long way.
