Tired and getting frustrated. Help please

DS was appointed to USNA last year under a presidential nom. He only rcvd the BFE, no other notification from the nomination source. So you won't be getting a call from the President :shake:

I too was rejected for the NROTC early board but for Marine Option. I got a call last week that I was selected for the scholarship on the second board. Biggest surprise of my life because I was starting to think I'd be more likely to be appointed to USNA. Hang in there everyone!

Thanks alot ! I'm still checking the mailbox with a smile on everyday! but im filling up my time with work and fun stuff to keep me from worrying! Also did you guys get your BFE in the mail BOX? or like on your door step cuz it wouldn't fit in the mailbox?

Where I live we have mailboxes all in one box with keys for each house on the street. Then there is a big box for packages and if you get a package then the mailman puts the key in your normal box. So my friends have gotten theirs in the package space because yes it is too big for the normal mailbox. I would assume if you have a regular mailbox setup then the mailman would deliver it to your door.

Exactly how I feel, although I do so much to get my mind off of it, it's ALL I think about when I'm in school! I hardly focus, especially in the end of the day because im so focused on getting home and checking the mailbox haha!

DH literally stalked the mailman down the street (had to go back to work and didn't want to wait!) and asked if he had a big fat envelope for us, AND HE DID! :yllol:

What Marine district are you from (geo. area?) My DS is in the 4th district and has heard nothing. As of March 4, they refused to release the info to us, claiming it was not official.

Hmm, I'm not sure which district I am in..how would I find this out? Also, I am still waiting for my packet from NROTC. The Captain just gave me a heads up last week that I should be receiving it soon.

It is by your location. The Marines Recuiting is divided into six districts nation-wide. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Corps_Recruiting_Command

DS has yet to be told by his recuiter, so says that he will be sending out letters because the number of applicants was so high (260 in the 4th Dist. out of which 40 got scholarships).

I'm still waiting..every day...not sleeping well at night, having dreams about it, people asking me every day "Have you heard yet?!"

Silly as it sounds, I have the same trouble sleeping. I feel anxious during the day, and just downright awful in the evening when the mailbox remains void of anything important.

At this point, if I could have anything I wanted, it would be a manila envelope that gave me the ability to sign the rest of my life away.

Totally know the feeling. It's so hard to concentrate in class. and any time I see anything that says "Navy" or military on it...well my mind is lost for an hour or so after that. All I want is to serve and be an officer!!!

Come on USNA, you're killin' us!!!

My math teacher has a huge Navy/Marine Corps calendar on the wall to keep track of everyones' birthdays..I know not to glance over at that wall or I won't get any math done!

It doesn't help that both my parents are grads (my decision doesn't reflect that), and my dad is still active duty. There's something having to do with the Navy in the mail every. single. day.

still waiting

we also are still waiting for our BWE. i know of a boy who received his BWE in Dec. and one who received is TWE in Jan.. My son is still waiting too!! Good liuck to everyone waiting..
